Literacy
Today we found proof to support our message for the song "True Colors". We have the "A" and the "P" and on Thursday we will be working on the "E" of our open response answer.

We viewed another medium, a commercial titled "Word Hurt". It was very short so we were able to come up with some excellent messages and find proof in the commercial to support our inference. These are some of the messages groups shared:

  • Think before you speak because words could hurt someone's feelings
  • Don't say anything that you wouldn't like someone to say to you
  • Words hurt just as much as being  physically hit, they leave scars on the inside

Tomorrow we will watch another video that fits in nicely with our presentation today. Sara Westbrook talked to the school today about her message of UPower. Tell someone that they matter and watch his or her face shine! We also started our "End Result" posters. What virtue did you choose?  What will you do SPECIFICALLY to show who you are? I loved how she shared strategies for dealing with emotions. Are there any that you would add?
