We learned a lot of facts about Sound today.

  • Sound is created by vibrations
  • Sound travels in waves
  • Sound waves travel in all directions from a source
  • The further away you are from the source and softer the sound
  • We measure the loudness of a sound using decibels

Make sure you answer the comprehension questions in complete sentences.

Religion
Today we began our discussion of the Bible and how it is central to our faith. Do you remember the meaning of the word "bible"?

The word bible comes from the Greek word "biblia" which mean books. That makes sense because the Bible is a collection of 73 books written by different authors at different times. What do all those books have in common? They were all inspired by God, that's why we call the Bible "The Word of God".

Media
Slideshows are due next Monday. Because it is a Google slideshow, you just need to access your own Google account by using your Board e-mail. You don't have to go through the LDCSB portal. You may have to log-out another Google account to get into your account.

When you present your slideshow, you must talk to the class about the information on each slide. It is a media and an oral communication assessment.

Reminders:

  • Please note all the special events listed to the left of this post.
  • Math test on Patterns on Friday (grade 4: repeating patterns and patterns in tables; grade 5: shape and number patterns and patterns in tables)
