On Fraction Friday we continued our discussion of unit fractions. We compared linear models (number line) with area models. We used our desk as a number line and our desk top as a rectangle (area). The easiest way to relate linear models to area models is by expressing the area model as a rectangle and extend our number line up. But we also found other ways to show an equal amount of area covered.

I am learning to use the new Mathletics teacher page (I was very used to the old Mathletics). Please let me know if your assignments are too difficult or do not reflect what we have done in class. The only activities you should be doing are the ones assigned. I think I closed the other windows.....
We weren't able to do our STEMS challenge, but everyone did an excellent job helping to plant our tree. Remember to take keep an eye on our tree and take care of it. Did we decide on a name for our tree?
