Math
Grade 4s we discussed patterns in t-charts. We watched a video about Inukshuit. Here's the link if you'd like to share it with someone at home:

Remember to use only 2 kinds of "rocks" (pattern blocks) when you build your Inukshuk. Be creative and no hexagons.

Here is the link for virtual pattern blocks to help:

Grade 5s looked at using tables to find patterns to answer questions.

Both grades had homework questions from the textbook. Make sure you make corrections in your yellow math notebook. Highlight feedback and use it as a guide. If you don't understand the feedback I write, it is your RESPONSIBILITY to ask questions.

A few Mathletics assignments have been posted.

Social Studies
Complete your APE answer, budget table and bar graph. Colour your bars NEATLY using pencil crayons. Include a title and label the horizontal and vertical axes. The page you need was posted yesterday.

Literacy
Today we read an interesting article in our Many Gifts book about the elephants in the Toronto Zoo. Tomorrow (time permitting), we will write 3 non-fiction text features and tell why it is non-fiction writing. The article is below. Ask your parents if they know who this person is:

Here's the link to the Fifth Estate video showing the journey of the three elephants.

An interesting questions to think about.....
What if one or more elephants died on the trip to California. Would you still think the City of Toronto made the right decision?

Media
You should be putting the final touches on your slideshow "Who Am I?" We will start presenting them next week.

Reminders:
  • Mass tomorrow at St. George @ 9:30 am
  • Food Drive continues tomorrow. THANK YOU!
