Math
In math today we talked about when we know some things about a number, it tells us other things. Most of  you are working on a number riddle. Tomorrow you will finish your riddle and we will begin Numeric and Geometric Patterns.

Please correct your math quiz and set a "next step" or goal. What do you need to work on? Your assessment folder should be signed by a parent and returned for tomorrow.

Some students were unable to access Mathletics. Hmmm..... Make sure you go to the Board Website and go through the VLE (snowflake). You need to type your e-mail (student number @ldcsb.org)

Social Studies
Today we read about the structure of a municipal government. Lots of new vocabulary and information. The big idea to remember is that decisions are made by elected officials (mayor and councillors). However, councillors often ask members of the community who are knowledgeable on different issues to given them information so they can make decisions for "the common good".

Religion
In Religion we began talking about sacred places and sacramentals. We will continue to identify sacramentals in the church tomorrow. Do you remember what an ambo is?

Learning Skills
The first month of school is all about learning rules and routines in the classroom. Most students are generally able to follow routines. Some continue to have difficulty. I will chat with some students this week regarding this issue. Please make sure you complete your class job for the week. It is your RESPONSIBILITY to ask questions if you do not understand your job. It is your RESPONSIBILITY to hand in books and assignments. It's your RESPONSIBILITY to do you homework and check the blog regularly. Can you guess what our next learning skill is?

Orange Shirt Day
Thursday is orange shirt day. We will talk on Wednesday about the reason for this day. You do not have to participate. It's up to you....

Here's a little background information on Residential Schools:
