Grade 4 Test tomorrow:
- Double bar graphs: constructing and making conclusions
Grade 5 Test tomorrow
- Broken line graphs: construction and making specific observations AND identifying TRENDS (increasing, decreasing, staying the same)
- Temperature: Find the difference in temperature including negative temperatures and reading a thermometer. Extra practice below.

Social Studies
In both grades we talked about the importance of the PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT to both early societies and the First Nations people.
Our text form for writing is compare and contrast. Grade 4 you will be comparing the physical environment in Ancient Rome and Judea. Grade 5 you will be comparing type of food and food acquisition between the First Nations people and people today.
Grade 5 also think about an object that you could make out of natural materials found in your environment.
Literacy
Today we talked about the THEME of the Breadwinner. A theme is a universal message the author is trying to convey. It is universal because it applies to all people everywhere.
We will continue with this tomorrow, as well as delve into a study of Parvana.
