Math
Lots of extra practice on past posts. Keep working away at your booklet.

Today we talked about choosing the most correct unit.

When is it most appropriate to use mm? Something that is less than a cm of course, but also if something needs a very PRECISE measurement. Anytime you are building or installing something, it must be measured very precisely. Another time you might use mm, is if you are COMPARING two measurements and the difference between the two are very small. For example the distance or height someone jumps.

We use combination of units e.g. mm and cm or cm and m, when the distance is between two wholes of the larger unit.

Play "Switching Tracks" from yesterday's post to practice choosing the best unit.

Science
Today we investigates how light travels. How were the cards arranged to hit the bull's eye? Think about different reasons we use light each day. It's not just to see!

We also practiced writing up an investigation using the Scientific Method. It is very important that you understand how to use it when conducting an investigation.

The procedure is what you follow to do the experiment. It is usually numbered and written one step at a time.

The hypothesis is what you think will happen and the data is your observations. Tomorrow we will look at our observations and create a conclusion.
