Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday. 2019 is here! The new year is always a good time to reflect on the previous year. Think about....
What was your happiest memory of 2018?
What accomplishment are you most proud of?
Can you remember of time when hard work resulted in success?

Take the best of 2018 and build onto your strengths in 2019. Be the best you can be!

Math
Most of you have a good foundation in fractions. You should know how to show a fraction using a picture (part of a whole and part of a set), number line, words, numbers (the fraction). You should understand how a fraction is made of unit fractions, the meaning of the numerator and denominator, mixed numbers and improper fractions. Our next step will be solving problems with fractions.

As we move forward with fractions, decimals and measurement, knowing your multiplication and division facts becomes VERY IMPORTANT.

Spend some time each day practicing your basic facts. Here is a site to print out practice pages. Not only must you know your facts, you must be able to recall them QUICKLY. DO NOT ADD REPEATEDLY IN YOUR HEAD. Learn the facts! The sooner you can do this, the easier math will be.

Grade 5, here is some good review of mult-digit multiplication. You should already know your facts by heart. If you don't you need to go back and PRACTICE.
