Math
Excellent job creating symmetrical shapes with pattern blocks. Finish Your Turn questions. Remember..... to prove that a shape is symmetrical you can:

  • Cut it out and fold it in half. If one half is identical to the other (congruent) then it is symmetrical
  • Use a Mira to see if one half is the mirror image of the other
Next up is reflections. A transformation that should be very easy considering your expertise in creating shapes with lines of symmetry.

Phys. Ed.
Great dance performances today. The FDK students were thoroughly entertained.

Literacy
Make sure the following is complete tonight:
  • Sound paragraph on a topic of choice. Use the example on the handout as a guide. If you need to look at a few facts.... feel free to use the Internet. Keep it specific and simple.
  • Story map of alliteration story. Just the main events of your story.... what happens to the character. Keep in mind the sound that you are repeating throughout your story.
Mass
Come inside when you get to school tomorrow. We want to be ready to go to church as soon as possible. Make sure you have shoes to wear at church. Keep practicing your readings..... SLOWLY, CLEARLY AND LOUDLY.

Permission forms for "The Grinch" were sent home today.....
