Everyone did a wonderful job at mass today. Readers read beautifully and gift bearers presented their gifts reverently. BRAVO!
Remember what Father John said today......Advent is a time of prayer... preparing for the coming of Jesus. Tomorrow we will write our Advent goals..... what are five things that you can do this Advent season to prepare for the coming of Jesus is your life?
Math
Today we practiced reflecting shapes. Reflected shapes are symmetrical. A reflection is a type of transformation. When we transform a shape, we change it in some way. When we reflect a shape we flip it over a reflection line. Using a Mira is a great way to "see" the reflective shape. We also reflected the vertices of a polygon and used those reflections to draw the reflected polygon.
Extra practice: (reflect the vertices first, then draw the shape.
We'll continue with reflections tomorrow.
Reflect on and correct your geometry test and set a "next step" in your assessment duotang.
Tomorrow we will share our alliterative stories with a partner and work on our descriptive Robert Munsch paragraphs.
Christmas Crafts / Door Decorating
We will have a "Christmas Table" set up in the classroom for making crafts and putting together the decorations for our door. Students who are finished their work / assignments will be allowed to work on Christmas activities.
Reminders:
- Permission form for "The Grinch".
