Math
In geometry we continued our discussion of angles. Remember to always compare angles to your benchmark angles: right, straight, half a right. When you are measuring angles with your protractor, using your benchmark angles to predict an angle measure, will prevent the mistake of using the wrong scale on your protractor. Grade five, please take some time to play the game posted yesterday. It is very good for learning how to measure angles.

Remember, when you are drawing shapes (polygons) with different sizes of angles, you are looking at the INTERIOR angles, the angles INSIDE the shape. The number of angles in a shape is equal to the number of sides of the shape.

We will review the Patterning test on Thursday.

STEM Challenge
I hope you enjoyed making your spiders today. Don't forget to practice reading your book for Thursday.

Writing
It takes time to sit with a group of students to give oral feedback to writing. I like when you hear feedback from your peers, so a conference is the best way to make this happen. Thank you to students who worked quietly during the writing period. To those of you who had difficulty getting started, you need to self-regulate. Move your desk to a spot you won't be distracted. There is absolutely nothing negative about doing that. You have to know how you learn best.

Halloween Bowling tomorrow..... wear your orange and black (or uniform).
