Today we discussed the First Past the Post system of voting. Explain to a parent why it actually is a somewhat unfair voting system. What is the different between that and ranked voting? How is that more fair?
Take a look at a recent poll for mayor in London:
Now you can see why the first past the post system wouldn't be very fair!
Tomorrow is voting day! We will be running an election for grades 4 - 8 along with Mr. D'Oria's class and Mrs. Ferri's class.
Think about the situation you chose with your group. How would you show the different decision making models: autocratic, democratic and consensus?
