Math
Grade 4
The last topic in time is measuring longer units of time... days, weeks, months, years, decades, centuries and millennia. We have done a bit of this in our patterning unit.
1 day = 24 hours
1 week = 7 days
1 year = 12 months
1 year = 365 days
1 decade = 10 years
1 century = 100 years
1 millennium = 1000 years
1 century = 10 decades
1 millennium = 10 centuries
1 millennium - 100 decades
Grade 5
You should know how to tell, write and read time to the nearest second. Next lesson is elapsed time to the nearest second. We also look at elapsed time with longer units of time such as days, months and years.
About how long ago did these events occur? Use years, decades, centuries or a combination of two or three units of time.
Science
This chart is a great review of how food moves through the digestive system. It follows an apple.
What helps digest the bun.... meat..... veggies.... cheese?
Remember the functions of the digestive system:
1. Break down food into tiny pieces.
